This
spreadsheet will help you manage your indexing project
analysis. It is designed so that you can note your
progress over time as your indexing skills improve. For instance, it specifically tracks your "effective hourly rate" (EHR) over your last 10 projects, despite the fact that you work on a per-page or per-project basis. You will need to keep track of the hours you've put into the project (I just use my wristwatch's stopwatch function, stopping and starting through the day, and jotting down the total on the proof each day). Another great feature is the ability to quickly calculate your indexing speed. Track your progress as you improve your skills. Use your indexing software's statistics to input total entries, references and cross-references.
